Sing Democracy 250 is a nationwide musical initiative commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence: a movement of resilience, a chorus of hope, and a celebration of the values that define us as Americans. Launching in October 2025 in Philadelphia, PA, Sing Democracy 250 has announced three additional signature choral concerts across cities important to the founding of America. These cities include Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. for their foundational roles in democratic history; New York City, today’s modern cultural capital; and Minnesota, widely regarded as a leading choral center of the United States. All four concerts are rooted in local partnerships with community voices and celebrate the beginnings of our nation through meaningful texts and musical compositions. 

Together In Hope Choir, based in Minneapolis, will serve as anchor choir for all Signature Concerts. G. Phillip Shoultz, III is Artistic Director of Together In Hope Project and Sing Democracy 250 and will conduct these performances.

  • Ken Burns’ “The American Revolution” Preview Event at NJPAC – On Wednesday, September 17 at 1:30PM at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, RevolutionNJ is proud to host an event with acclaimed documentarian Ken Burns to celebrate the premiere of his new six-part series THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION. Governor Murphy will introduce Ken Burns, who will provide a preview of the series. And the event will feature journalist and television news anchor Brian Williams who will moderate a discussion between Ken, his co-director Sarah Botstein, and film advisor/historian Christopher Brown (Columbia University).
