This is a river cruise company that invites innovation, imagination and a relentless desire to create a smart use of space be its guide. The result? More space. Bigger views. More comfort … All thanks to one-of-a-kind Panorama Suites on the industry’s only Suite Ships.
The Suite Ships of Avalon are revolutionizing the river cruise industry. On these signature vessels, Avalon brings an unprecedented level of thoughtfulness and attention to detail to every aspect of the Panorama Suite, providing travelers an oasis to escape to, not escape from. And while the company’s Panorama Suites do offer travelers more room, they’re about more of everything. And that means a more relaxing and more enjoyable vacation for Avalon’s guests.
Even better? Avalon doesn’t just offer travelers a few Panorama Suites on each ship. Instead, 80 percent of the guest rooms on the company’s Suite Ships are Panorama Suites. And they’re 30 percent larger than the average river cruise room.
In designing its ships, Avalon has refused to see space as a barrier. That fact couldn’t be truer when looking at the company’s inspired indoor/outdoor space. For instance, Avalon’s Open-Air Balconies®, a completely new concept, make full use of the intended balcony experience – in any weather condition, in any season – without compromising room space. How? Giant, wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows with a 7-foot opening.
In front of this giant wall of windows, Avalon provides travelers a love seat, chairs and table that raises-up to enjoy breakfast or cocktails and lowers when it’s not in use (so it doesn’t obstruct the view). The result is a space where travelers can slide the doors wide open and enjoy the feeling of sitting comfortably “outside” as the amazing views of castles and villages, rolling green hills and ancient cities pass by.
Even Avalon Waterways’ bathrooms are atypical. The design team angled each interior stateroom wall to provide guests a large shower with glass doors. Avalon bathrooms also feature marble countertops, premium fixtures, L’Occitane® amenities and shelves under the vanity to house our guests’ toiletries.
Luxury and comfort are two words this company takes seriously and so do their travelers. Avalon’s staterooms and suites offer guests deluxe Comfort Collection Beds with Egyptian super-combed cotton linens, European-style duvets and choice of pillows. Avalon rooms also come complete with sound dampening insulation in the walls so guests are unlikely to hear neighbors. And the river cruise operator gives travelers the comforts of home like real wood finishes, recessed lighting, plush robes, slippers, stocked mini-bars and complimentary bottled water as well as some added bonuses like nightly turndown service and treats.
Avalon has considered every detail of the cruise experience. But perhaps it’s what the company hasn’t done that makes it so unique. It hasn’t filled its ships to capacity with people. In fact, because the river cruise line made its rooms so spacious, there’s more room for less people.
Simply put, Avalon Waterways is built differently.
