LINCOLN NEBRASKA’S HAYMARKET DISTRICT

Explore Lincoln’s Historic Haymarket District where trendy boutiques, mouth-watering cuisine and cozy corner coffee shops line the brick streets. Grab a cup of joe from one of our favorite local coffee shops before uncovering what makes the Haymarket the place to be and discover in Lincoln.

It won’t take long to discover why Lincoln was named the happiest city in America. Be sure to embrace a little peace and quiet with the breathtaking views only a vineyard can provide, as you enjoy sampling Nebraska wines in the tasting room at Deer Springs Winery.

In the Antelope Valley neighborhood of Lincoln, Karen Kunc founded Constellation Studios in 2013. Step into a premier spot offering a unique perspective into the world of printmaking. In fact, Karen offers bookmaking and other distinct paper workshops, art residencies, and exhibits both for sale and viewing pleasure.

Located on Lincoln’s southwestern edge is the expanding WarHorse Casino. Currently offering slot machines and sports betting, WarHorse’s buildout in the next few years is set to include table games, live and simulcast horse racing, a hotel and restaurants.

Lincoln is also home to numerous faith-based events and gatherings, thanks in large part to the services and support it provides spiritual groups. Mercy City Church’s Pioneer Women’s Conference and Seven Conference remain popular gatherings with impactful worship time, great speakers and powerful community.

LINCOLN’S ART SCENE

The LUX Center for the Arts encompasses everything arts-related under one roof. Find mixed-media, painting, glass and metal/jewelry classes, outreach programs, fellowships, residency teaching programs and personal artistic growth opportunities here. Beautiful things happen at the LUX when artists gather to create and display resplendent visual crafts. The LUX is a vital Lincoln community organization that connects people through art and experiential opportunities.

Another special experience oozes sophistication at Kiechel Fine Art. Marvel 19th and 20th-century American art and contemporary regional and national prints on display. Additionally, you can get your art appraised by professionals or sell your pieces outright or on consignment. There are four gallery floors to peruse and a relaxing rooftop area offering panoramic city views.

As the sun sets on day in Lincoln, join the Branched Oak Observatory astronomer to view the night sky the way it was intended—away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Once the day is done, settle your group in for the night at one of Lincoln’s unique hotels where friendly staff are eager to ensure your stay is a memorable one.
