Rediscover this country’s beauty

As America approaches its 250th anniversary in 2026, there has never been a better time to rediscover the beauty and history that defines our nation. From epic cross-country road trips to local adventures, there’s something for everyone to explore and enjoy.

At America250, our vision is to create the largest, most inspiring celebration and commemoration in the nation’s history. Celebrating the 250thanniversary will allow us to take stock of the progress we’ve made as a nation, the challenges we continue to face, the freedoms we cherish, and continue to build upon for a more perfect union.

Nothing better prepares us for the semi-quincentennial celebration than rediscovering America through travel.

Already, we are excited that travel has ignited curiosity and love for this country in our students. America’s Field Trip is a contest that invites students across the country in grades3–12to be part ofAmerica’s250th anniversary by sharing their perspectives on what America means to them—with the opportunity to earn an unforgettable field trip experience at some of the nation’s most iconic historic and cultural landmarks—the Kennedy Space Center, Mesa Verde National Park, Monticello, and many others.

Imagine your child standing where history was made or exploring the wonders of our natural and cultural heritage.

Students may submit their entries through April 16, then awardees will embark on these special experiences and behind-the-scenes tours across the country this summer. The contest will start again in the Fall for more students and with new experiences in the summer of 2026.
