Industry Forecast Issue

Leisure Group Travel’s annual Industry Forecast Issue spotlights five “Titans of Tourism,” leaders who share insights on their organizations and how travel trends are affecting the industry at large. Featured are executives of Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA), International Air Transport Association (IATA), American Bus Association (ABA) and International Inbound Travel Association (IITA).

Also shedding light on the industry are results, in graph form, of the magazine’s third annual Group Intentions Survey. Readers were polled and provided answers to 10 questions revolving around the types of trips they offer and how they develop itineraries.

A special 20-page section is the inaugural Voyages Cruise Guide, which details group opportunities on 10 popular ocean and river cruise lines. It provides at-a-glance profiles of AmaWaterways, Celebrity Cruises, Cunard Line, American Queen Steamboat Company, Victory Cruise Lines, Princess Cruises, Seabourn, Holland American Line, Royal Caribbean International and Costa Cruises.

The issue’s International feature, “10 Emerging Destinations,” takes a look at offbeat places that are drawing attention from American travelers and the media. In some cases it’s a country that has experienced civil unrest and is starting to see better days. Among the hotspots for 2019 are Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Mongolia.

South Region coverage focuses on Tennessee and South Carolina.  Tennessee reports feature top music venues around the state, the Tennessee Civil Rights Trail and Nashville’s art scene. Readers also get a peek at South Carolina fam tours being offered to Travel Show Showcase delegates going to Myrtle Beach in February.

In the Central Region section, readers find “19 Reasons to Explore Minnesota in 2019.” Other destination articles highlight Maryland festivals and the lures of Redding, California.
