Andrew Lloyd Weber’s SUNSET BOULEVARD returns to the main stem directly from its Olivier Award-winning West End run in London. Haunted by her memories and dreams, movie star Norma Desmond yearns to return to the big screen. A struggling screenwriter who can’t sell his scripts to the Hollywood studios may be her only hope until their dangerous and compelling relationship leads to disastrous circumstances. Drenched in champagne and cynicism, Sunset Boulevard scrutinizes the ambitions and frustrations of its characters and their intoxicating need for fame and adoration. Starring Olivier-winner Nicole Scherzinger as Norma Desmond, this latest revival reimagines the classic musical at the St. James Theatre beginning September 28th.

COMING TO BROADWAY THIS SEASON
Satchmo’ is finally getting the Broadway treatment with A WONDERFUL WORLD: THE LOUIS ARMSTRONG MUSICAL. This new musical tells the story of Louis Armstrong’s life and loves, with the amazing Tony Award winner James Monroe Iglehart taking the lead. You’ll get to see Armstrong’s journey from the birth of jazz in his hometown of New Orleans all the way to his worldwide fame. The show features all his best-loved songs, including “What a Wonderful World” and “When You’re Smiling.” A WONDERFUL WORLD: THE LOUIS ARMSTRONG MUSICAL begins performances at the iconic Studio 54 Theatre on October 16th.
Following its 2022 world premiere at London’s Almeida Theatre where it received rave reviews and was nominated for four Olivier Awards, Elton John brings the story of TAMMY FAYE, a traveling preacher’s wife who beamed into homes with a message of hope and stole the country’s heart, to Broadway on October 19th at the newly renovated Palace Theatre. It’s the 1970s and as satellites broadcast brand-new cable programming into American homes, millions fall in love with Tammy Faye Bakker – the charismatic wife of pastor Jim Bakker. Together, they build a nationwide congregation that puts the fun back into faith. But, even as Tammy dazzles on screen, jealous rivals plot behind the scenes, threatened by her determination to lead with love. With Katie Brayben reprising her Olivier Award-winning role as the title character, and newly announced Tony winner Christian Borle as her husband Jim, Olivier Award-winning TAMMY FAYE shines a sparkling light on the generous, loving, often lonely soul behind the illustrious lashes.
The cult-classic DEATH BECOMES HER is coming to Broadway on October 23rd after a wildly successful run in Chicago! Madeline Ashton is the most beautiful actress (just ask her), and Helen Sharp is the long-suffering author (just ask her) who lives in her shadow. Their world is changed forever when they meet Viola Van Horn, a mysterious woman with a secret that’s to die for. Starring Tony Award® nominees Megan Hilty (Wicked, “Smash”), Jennifer Simard (Company, Disaster!), and Christopher Sieber (Spamalot, Company), with Grammy® Award winner Michelle Williams (Destiny’s Child, Chicago), DEATH BECOMES HER, based on the classic 1992 film, is a drop-dead hilarious new musical comedy about friendship, love, and burying the hatchet…again, and again, and again.
From Sunset Boulevard to Gypsy
Beginning November 21st, it’s Audra’s turn—six-time Tony Award®-winner Audra McDonald is coming to Broadway this Fall in GYPSY! Last seen on Broadway in 2022’s Ohio State Murders, GYPSY marks McDonald’s return to her musical theatre roots for the first time since 2016. Following in the footsteps of other Broadway legends Ethel Merman, Angela Lansbury, Tyne Daly, Bernadette Peters, and Patti LuPone—Audra McDonald takes on the iconic role of “Mama Rose” in the latest revival of this seminal musical! GYPSY is the landmark Broadway musical about a domineering mother in the early 20th Century who will do anything to make Vaudeville stars of her daughters. Inspired by the early life of stripper Gypsy Rose Lee, this new production is directed by George C. Wolfe and choreographed by Camille A. Brown and is the musical that introduced the hit songs “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” “Let Me Entertain You,” and “You Gotta Get a Gimmick.”
