It begins in the theater with a documentary short by Emmy®-winning filmmaker Ric Burns, narrated by Jeff Goldblum. With his unmistakable voice, Goldblum draws groups into the city’s dramatic evolution, from its origins as a small Dutch settlement to its rise as one of the world’s most influential metropolises. This is more than just entertainment—it provides information on history, civics, and cultural development. The short documentary provides a foundational context for the galleries and exhibits that follow.

From there, groups step into seven interactive museum-style galleries, each co-curated alongside leading cultural institutions. These spaces explore disciplines including Finance, Architecture, Fashion, Broadway, Film, Music, Radio and Television. The galleries are hands-on, unique and informative, inviting visitors to do more than just look—they engage. Guests will learn how Wall Street shaped global markets, trace the rise of skyscrapers as engineering marvels, and discover how New York became the creative hub for theater, film, and popular music.

The journey culminates in the 4D flying theater ride, a breathtaking finale that soars high above New York’s landmarks. Groups strap in for a fantastic immersive VR ride set in a 180-degree, 40-foot projection dome. Go soaring over the City, and see 8K aerial footage including the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Central Park and more iconic landmarks-complete with mist, wind, and scents, for a 4D experience of New York in a whole new way. It’s not just about seeing New York; it’s about feeling it.

Why Groups Love RiseNY

Why Groups Love RiseNY

While critics and travel experts have praised RiseNY as “one of the top 10 things to do in NYC right now” (USA Today) and “outstanding in every way” (Fox 5), the real story lies in what the attraction offers to groups.

For student travelers, the value is both educational and inspirational. RiseNY’s galleries align seamlessly with subjects like history, economics, performing arts, architecture, and media studies. The experience encourages cross-disciplinary learning and sparks the kinds of conversations that extend far beyond the field trip itself.

For teachers and group travel planners, RiseNY makes planning easy. The venue offers exclusive scholarly discounts, guided docent tours, and customized educational talk-backs where students can engage directly with experts in their area of interest.

And because every group trip is about logistics as much as learning, RiseNY partners with local restaurants to provide group-friendly dining options. This makes it simple to turn a visit into a full-day experience without the stress of managing multiple reservations across a busy city.

An Experience for Every Interest

What makes RiseNY stand out for groups is its versatility. It’s not just a history museum or a ride—it’s a celebration of everything that makes New York unique. That means no matter the makeup of your group, there’s something for everyone.

History buffs will be fascinated by the city’s transformation through immigration, innovation, and cultural revolutions.

Theater lovers will light up in the Broadway gallery, exploring how New York shaped the world of live performance.

Aspiring filmmakers and musicians will connect with the film and music exhibits, learning how NYC gave rise to some of the most iconic works in modern entertainment.

Future architects and engineers will marvel at the city’s skyline, using the architecture gallery as a springboard for bigger discussions about design and urban development.

It’s this variety that makes RiseNY such an appealing choice for group travel planners. Instead of picking between a museum, a ride, or a historical tour, RiseNY combines the best of all worlds.
