Day 1: Historical Heart of Philadelphia & Iconic Landmarks
Start your Philadelphia excursion with a visit to the Betsy Ross House. This historic house commemorates the life and accomplishments of Betsy Ross, a Philadelphia patriot believed to have made our first American flag. An excellent example of Colonial “middling”- class architecture, the Betsy Ross House brings to life the working and living conditions of an 18th-century artisan. Free with recommended donation. This attraction is a stop on the Philly Phlash! The Philly Phlash is a quick, inexpensive, and easy trolley to key destinations throughout Center City. For $2 per ride (or free with select SEPTA passes), hop on and off popular stops for easy and convenient transportation to the city’s most popular sites.
Next, pay a visit to the Science History Institute, which illuminates the science and technology that is “hidden in plain sight.” Explore compelling but often lesser-known stories of science–and we don’t just mean discoveries made by scientists in laboratories. We dive deep into the history of scientific successes and failures, strange surprises, and mishaps. We tell the stories behind the science. So, visit our museum and library, listen to our podcasts, read our magazine, and explore our digital collections and blog to be awakened to scientific stories that are interesting and delightful. And we’re free so that you can befree to discover the science embedded in your life. The Science History Institute is located in the heart of Old City, Philadelphia’s historic district. It is open Wednesday through Saturday.

For lunch, stop at Positano Coast. Head to this vibrant Italian restaurant in Old City for a group-friendly lunch. Opt for the seasonal Italian menu with a variety of choices that will please any palate, including pasta and salmon limoncello.

No visit to Philadelphia is complete without a stop at LOVE Park. Robert Indiana’s iconic LOVE sculpture has been refurbished and returned to JFK Plaza. Head to LOVE Park for one of Philadelphia’s favorite selfie spots.
End your day with a visit to the Masonic Temple, an architectural wonder from 1873. Learn about the history of Freemasonry and admire the stunning interiors of this historic building.

Day 2: Art, Culture & Vibrant Neighborhoods in Philadelphia

Spend your afternoon learning about Philadelphia’s maritime history at the Independence Seaport Museum. You can explore exhibits on the U.S. Navy and even board historic ships like the USS Olympia.

Day 3: Philadelphia’s Iconic Neighborhoods & Relaxing Strolls
Spend the morning wandering through Philadelphia’s oldest neighborhoods. Visit iconic sites like Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell and learn about the early days of the United States. The oldest continuously operating tavern in Philadelphia, this is a historic setting for groups in the heart of downtown. Pouring pints since 1860, McGillin’s can host groups on the first-floor or in their second-floor private dining space, equipped with a private bar. Groups can enjoy their menu of homemade American comfort food and Irish classics. Menus are available in English, French, and Japanese.
