Paired with its ecolodges and Caribbean treehouse, the center offers complete adventure itineraries for a variety of group sizes and desired activities.

Locally owned and operated, Pacuare’s guides speak both English and Spanish and the firm boasts more than 500 five-star reviews. With five unique experiences to choose from and three Caribbean tree houses and Ecolodges plus partner hotels and resorts, the Pacuare Outdoor Center is your Costa Rica vacation expert. Here are some of the firm’s more popular Costa Rica adventure vacations:

3-Day Adventure Rafting and Zipline

The most popular adventure trip in Costa Rica, this iconic package offers two days of Pacuare river rafting, one day of ziplining, and two nights at the riverside lodge. Groups will meet in front of the University of Costa Rica in Turrialba before beginning their adventure which kicks off at La Cruz, located near Turrialba.

Possibly the most breathtaking feature of Costa Rica is the Pacuare River, which weaves its way through lush terrain. It was voted among the top 5 most scenic rivers on the planet and can be viewed from above via zipline, through the whitewater rapids, or paddleboarding on the calm channels.

The rafting on the first day consists of some great Class II and Class III rapids along with a delicious lunch on the river prepared by local chefs. After lunch, paddle another 40 minutes to the Pacuare Outdoor Center eco-lodge. Here you’ll take a 10-minute trek through the jungle to get to the lodge, which features incredible views of the Pacuare River canyon and surrounding mountains. Once you get settled into your room, enjoy the views or you can join the Tarzan Hour, featuring one of the most adrenaline pumping Tarzan swings you will find.

With five unique experiences to choose from and three Caribbean tree houses and Ecolodges plus partner hotels and resorts, the Pacuare Outdoor Center is your Costa Rica vacation expert.

The next morning you will wake up to the sun rising over the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. The lodge has views in the morning directly down the canyon. After breakfast, a full day of fun and adventure includes a zipline course, which features five different ziplines ranging from 30 meters to 620 meters.

On Day 3, groups will head back to the rafts and tackle the whitewater including paddling the famous Pacuare Canyon, a gorge that features Class III and IV rapids and majestic scenery. The canyon rock walls rise straight up 200 feet and groups will pass waterfalls that fall 150 feet into the river. After your 3-Day Adventure, the Kapu Tree House is available to book as an add-on. Located just one minute from the famous Punta Uva beach, relax and unwind 100 feet off the ground in this treetop paradise.

2-Day Pacuare Rafting Trip

A two-day and one-night stay at the luxurious eco-lodge provides the most surreal experience for those wanting to truly experience the power of the Pacuare River. With 50 adventurous rapids to explore and breathtaking viewpoints of the Huacas and Fer-de-Lance waterfalls, the river lodge is an unbelievable opportunity to nestle into the breathtaking Cabecar Indigenous reserve.

After a fun-filled day of paddling, groups can return to the eco-lodge, which features hot showers and rooms that are purposely designed to be open-air with screens so you’re fully immersed in the jungle yet in a comfortable queen bed.

On Day 2, after a hearty breakfast, walk down to the rafts and launch immediately into POC Rapid, which is just downstream. From there you will raft Class II and III whitewater until you hit the famous Pacuare Canyon. The tightening of the canyon also means the side creeks get more dramatic with waterfalls pouring directly into the river. This is like nothing you’ll find anywhere else.
