Started in Spring of 2019 and with plans to finish sometime in 2024, The Waterfront Seattle Program aims at transforming Seattle’s central waterfront. The project includes the removal of both the Alaskan Way viaduct and the replacement of the Elliott Bay seawall as well as the important utility infrastructure and implementation of new Alaskan Way and Elliot Way surface streets.
