NTA’s annual Travel Exchange—hosted this year in Milwaukee—was a successful industry event that connected operators and DMOs from across the nation. After an opening excursion hosted by Milwaukee Food & City Tours to showcase the city’s rich culinary history, attendees gathered in the Wisconsin Center to  set up their booths and prepare for the productive five-day event.

The icebreaker event was hosted at the Harley-Davidson Museum on Sunday evening. Housed in an industrial-inspired building and home to over 450 bikes, the museum welcomed visitors with tours and up-close glimpses at the replicas of the iconic Easy Rider choppers. Other evening events included receptions at Discovery World (an interactive science museum) and the Milwaukee Public Museum (where visitors can walk through the streets of yesteryear). Live lunchtime entertainment highlights included performances by the Milwaukee Irish Dancers, Motown musical numbers and appearance by Broadway legend Chita Rivera.

Attendees could find plenty of fun on the conference floor as well. Conference-goers who had a break in the schedule could enjoy cheese curds from the Circle Wisconsin booth, learn about Milwaukee beer history from VISIT Milwaukee or taste freshly made popcorn from Tour Colorado.
