Spotlight travel conference

Mark Rowland will address Spotlight Travel Delegates in Vegas this April

Keynote speaker Mark Rowland, CEO of DTP Ventures and Cheerleader with Delivering Happiness, a company that brings happiness to the corporate world, will address the delegates on the topic of Delivering Happiness.  Using the science of happiness and the experiences of Zappos, Delivering Happiness works to create more engaged, productive and profitable individuals and workplaces.

Rowland’s passion in life is to be happy and strive for self-actualization for both himself and the people he comes into contact with.  He believes “work” is a fantastic platform by which to change the world, and has always tried to bring passion and purpose to the roles he has held throughout his career.

“This is something we as tour operators should be doing every day,” said Sue Arko, founder of Spotlight Travel Conferences. “It is at the core of our competency.”

Spotlight on the Southwest is a tourism conference which combines educational seminars,   networking functions and a trade show. Tour operators are primarily domestic U.S. and Canada, ranging from small operations to large receptive companies and everything in between.  The ratio of suppliers to tour operators is never more than 2 to 1. Spotlight is casual and intimate and is not just about networking – but about building mutually successful business relationships. New tour itineraries to off-the-beaten-path destinations are highlighted, using the closest Southwestern gateway cities as arrival and departure points.

The morning of April 19, all delegates will meet to discuss actual working itineraries comprised at the conference.  Next, a discussion of best practices to take place and then the conference will conclude.

Anne Basile from Mirage Tours comments, “Spotlight is one of my favorite annual conferences. It is great for developing relationships as I have made so many good business contacts and friends over the years.  I have attended 15 of the 17 past conferences and encourage other operators to attend.”
