Theme cruises have become a mainstay of the cruise industry, ranging from sports and celebrities to cuisine, culinary arts and wine. More diverse choices exist than ever before. And starting this February and running through early 2014, Holland America Line has 6 different “Dancing with the Stars” theme cruises scheduled.
Featured Events Onboard these Theme Cruises and Dance Pros
The six different “Dancing with the Stars” theme cruises will include a variety of different special events. Dance lessons, a chance to meet the dancers, as well as opportunities to take photos and ask questions are part of the fun. In addition, a special production during the cruise will featured the famed dance pros and celebrities onboard, complete with routines from the TV show and glamorous costumes. Events will take place in Queens Lounge as well as the Show Lounge.
Scheduled to appear are pros Tristan MacManus and Lacey Schwimmer as well as two time dance champion pro dancers Kym Johnson and Mark Ballas. And Holland America Line will be announcing more dance pros and celebrities for these six different cruises

There are 4 different “Dancing with the Stars” theme cruises scheduled in 2013. The first is onboard February 16, 2013 sailing of the ms Eurodam’s 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise departing from Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale. Scheduled are stars Joey Fatone and Sabrina Bryan, along with professional dancers Lacey Schwimmer and Mark Ballas.
The next will be on the ms Veedam’s 7 day Canada & New England June 22, 2013 cruise. So far Holland America Line notes that professional dancers include Mark Ballas and Chelsie Hightower.
After that, guests can enjoy Alaskan itineraries for these special “Dancing with the Stars” cruises. The first of these will be the June 30, 2013 sailing of the ms Oosterdam departing from Seattle on a 7 day Alaskan cruise. The second Alaskan cruise will be on the ms Oosterdam’s July 7, 2013 departure (once again from Seattle.)So far professional dancers include Tristan MacManus and Kym Johnson, along with star Carson Kressley. An additional star will be announced.
And in 2014, Holland America Line has two more “Dancing with the Stars” theme cruises scheduled. This will be on the January 5, 2014 sailing of the ms Nieuw Amsterdam’s 7 day Eastern Caribbean sailing, and then the January 12, 2014 sailing of the ms Nieuw Amsterdam. She’ll be doing a 7 day Western Caribbean sailing. Holland America Line will be announcing the professionals and celebrities for these two cruises at a later date.
Also “Dancing with the Stars” programs onboard all 15 ships
Holland America Line is also featuring an exclusive “Dancing with the Stars” program on every sailing onboard their 15 ships. This includes dance lessons as well as the opportunity for some lucky guests to actually dance center stage in a fun and exciting “dance-off” performance. Developed in collaboration with the show’s choreographers and dancers, these activities will feature the ships’ professional dancers.
