Example of a Globus Trip – Britain Sampler

9 Days, from $1,410 (per person, land only)

This circuit from London, the most popular in our Britain portfolio, showcases the best of England and Scotland, and even includes a sashay into Wales. Your group adventure starts with a swing through London that spotlights famous sights like the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Whitehall’s mounted horse guards and Buckingham Palace, with visits to St. Paul’s Cathedral (except on Sunday) and the Changing of the Guard, if held.

Then it’s on to the magnificent gardens of Henry VIII’s Hampton Court Palace, prehistoric Stonehenge and its new visitor center, and the Roman baths in the Georgian city of Bath. Admire vistas of the Cotswolds on your way to visit Shakespeare’s Birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon. Spend the afternoon in North Wales and stroll through picturesque Llangollen. After a morning walking tour through Chester that shows off its Roman ruins, cathedral and half-timbered buildings, your group travels through the tranquil Lake District and takes a break in Wordsworth’s beloved Grasmere before heading north to Scotland. Highlights in Edinburgh include the Crown Jewels in Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace.

Consider optional experiences like a Scottish evening with Highland dancers and bagpipers or tour the former Royal Yacht Britannia. On the way back to London, your group will visit Sir Walter Scott’s newly refurbished Abbotsford House and York, the most complete medieval city in England. Visits to the market town of Stamford and university city of Cambridge round out the fun-filled Britain Sampler.
