The christening of the Avalon Expression earlier this week on May 6 in Koblenz, Germany continues the success of Avalon Waterways in many ways as well as their continuation of industry firsts. The Avalon Expression, their fifth “Suite Ship,” was christened by Patricia Schultz, author of the bestselling book, “1,000 Places to See Before You Die.”

The Two Newest Suite Ships – Avalon Expression and Avalon Artistry II

The Avalon Artistry II made its debut earlier on April12, where she was christened in the Netherlands, by high-profile Philippine travel industry professional Marilen Sandejas-Yaptanco. And as noted, the Avalon Expression was just christened on May 6 by internationally bestselling author Patricia Schultz. These are the two newest suite ships that provide more features to their stellar onboard experiences.

Guests who cruise on Avalon Waterways can now select everything “down to the last detail” thanks to the introduction of “Avalon Choice.” These features and amenities offered across their entire fleet include “Avalon Choice Excursions,” “Avalon Choice Dining,” “Avalon Choice on Board,” and “Avalon Choice Selection.” As far as “Avalon Choice Dining,” for instance, dining venues include the new Panorama Bistro on their Suite Ships, along with al fresco dining at the Sky Bistro. Complimentary beer, wine and soda are included with dinners. And new for 2013? Guests can experience local chefs through their Culture & Cruise onboard. With “Avalon Choice Excursions,” guests can choose their own pace and style when it comes to the included excursions. And that’s just a start.
