IT managers at adventure travel companies are finding innovative ways of keeping things on track and improving customer satisfaction. Leisure Group Travel technology columnist John Kamm quotes tech managers at Natural Habitat Adventures, OARS and Micato Safaris regarding automated reservations systems, online form completion and other issues.
When asked about tech challenges, Kamm writes, “all agreed that Internet bandwidth continues to be a major issue. Because an Internet connection is the backbone supporting online reservations, online forms, email, corporate intranets, VOIP phone systems, remote staff and branch offices connected to the central reservations system, the most efficient solution is to locate resources where they will support the greatest numbers of users and services while minimizing the impact on the Internet connection.”
