Big deal. So what? Who cares?
-
- For what it is worth, and perhaps it is not worth much, today marks "half-time" for 2008.
- Yes, my friends, time does fly ... and waits for no man, woman or child.
-
- And as in sports, "half-time" has been the designated period to pause, relax,
- refresh, rethink, refocus and to get ready for Part #2.
- So, unlike any other week in the year, and this being a short week,
- I am suggesting that you use the next four days to
- reflect on your first half and decide what changes, modifications,
- alterations or apologies you need to make before pressing on
- come Monday, July 6th.
-
- How is that for permission to goof off for a few days?
-
- But, I am a tad smarter than you might think.
- I know that many, if not most of you, will not change your ways this week ...
- or any other week.
-
- You will continue to press on blindly towards "who knows where."
- And who am I to question this behavior? If it is working satisfactorily for you, I say, "Press On."
-
- But, as the old woodsman story goes, he who sharpens his axe has a better chance of
- cutting more wood in a designated period of time.
-
- So, take the next four days to "sharpen" your game plan. Think about the first half of the year. Learn what you can from it.
- Think about the second half of the year ... and how you can use what you learned from the first half to your best advantage.
- Forgive yourself if necessary and challenge yourself beyond your current comfort zone.
- Give yourself something to shoot for ... a goal ... a target ... a dream.
-
- Then, take the 4th of July weekend off and enjoy your family and friends to the max.
-
- Monday begins your second half.
- And it is in this half where you turn up the burners and win the game.
-
- Enjoy the week THINKING.
- I plan to be practicing what I preach along with you.
