Nashville’s Gaylord Opryland Progressing Towards Reopening
An army of over 700 construction workers has completed all clean-up and remediation work and reconstruction on the venerable Gaylord Opryland has begun in earnest.
As part of the restoration, Gaylord is redesigning the Cascades Lobby, Cascades American Café Restaurant, and the Cascades Terrace Bar, as well as Volare and Jack Daniels Restaurants. Gaylord is also introducing a new Mexican restaurant concept as well as redesigned Magnolia guest rooms, and renovations to presidential suites. The hotel is slated to reopen November 15.
Since the unprecedented flooding that swept through Nashville during the first weekend in May, Nashville has demonstrated an incredible resilience. Already, almost all of downtown is as good as new — including the world-famous Wildhorse Saloon. The General Jackson Showboat is already cruising the Cumberland River again! And the Grand Ole Opry House will celebrate its re-opening the first week of October.

Downtown Nashville Updates
While downtown Nashville sustained less damage than the area surrounding the Gaylord, Ford theater did have 4 feet of water and was closed until August 1st. The Country Music Hall of Fame just just opened a major exhibit on the “First Lady of Country Music” Tammy Wynette this week, which will run through June 2011. For more information on this exhibit, visit the Country Music Hall of Fame website.
