In “Pleasant Dreams,” Leisure Group Travel interviews hotel company executives on the lodging industry outlook for 2014. Another forecast article looks at student travel and the efforts of Brightspark’s new president, Mike Schields, in making the company the best in its class.
The December issue also reveals the winners of Leisure Group Travel’s annual Reader’s Choice Awards. Listed are the top three finishers in each of eight categories—Best International Destination, Domestic Destination, Museum, Broadway Play, Cruise Line, Rail Excursion, Tour Operator and Hotel Brand.
“South Dakota Outdoors” gives tour planners a variety of ways they can inject adventure into their itineraries, whether their groups are into biking, hiking, fishing or rock climbing. “Ten Tour-ific Nebraska Museums” suggests 10 crowd-pleasers that specialize in subjects as diverse as pioneer lore, military aircraft and roller skating. Also in the Midwest, “RV Capital of the World” looks at factory tour possibilities in the Amish Country of Northern Indiana, which is home to the only RV museum.
Rounding out the December issue are articles on Chattanooga, Baltimore, the Grand Canyon and Hawaii.
