Lisa Kasanicky, author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Girlfriend Getaways, gives tour planners a few tips on creating packages for groups of female travelers. Women like the idea of a structured itinerary that takes care of all the logistical details. “The less planning they have to do, the more likely they’ll bite,” she writes.
Lisa recommends that the planner choose a kick-off spot where travelers can gather on the first day of the trip and a final event that “punctuates the trip with an exclamation point.” For icing on the cake, arrange for a small gift at either end. She also suggests planning each day around a theme or central activity. An itinerary with options also is important. Not up for the white-knuckle jeep tour? How about a yoga class?
