At 35,000 feet, my mind begins to play all sorts of games on me when flying from hither to yon. On this particular flight, on my way to share a few of my New Jersey-based motivational thoughts to a group of college students at Michigan State University, the focus of my attention has drifted toward "holes."
Perhaps subconsciously it has something to do with the recent tragedy involving the Utah mining accident, but I don’t think so. Tragedy is not something new these days. It seems we wake up every morning to an event designed to rock our world and we are confronted with yet another "tragic hole" to work ourselves out of.
As I find myself staring down at the checkered pattern of Midwest farmland below, my mind is focusing on the type of holes that more of us should be voluntarily digging. In this case, it involves the holes we should be digging ourselves into and not the ones we should be trying frantically to extricate ourselves out of. Allow me explain.
