In Kentucky, The Galt House in Louisville this year introduces KaLightoscope, a huge display of larger-than-life, lighted holiday sculptures inspired by ancient Chinese art, all inside a temperature-controlled pavilion. East Tennessee’s Smoky Mountain Winterfest features lighted displays in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville, while Magical Night of Lights at Georgia’s Lake Lanier Islands Resort is billed as the world’s largest animated light extravaganza.
